Chapter 1: Her Name Is Chi Mo, Guan Yizhou's Girlfriend
Pu Rou was a night owl. She left the Begonia Club at three in the morning, and even then, she planned to watch a movie before going to sleep once she got home.
Opened the door, changed her shoes. Out of the corner of her eye, she caught a pair of men’s leather shoes with an excellent texture.
Before she could react, footsteps came from the stairs.
“Back?”
The voice was cold and weary. It belonged to Sheng Kuang, her newlywed husband whom she had only met twice.
Her long, straight black hair had gone a bit flat from bouncing around at the club, but thankfully her face was still extremely beautiful. Pu Rou silently cursed her luck, but by the time she looked up again, her brows and eyes were already curved into a gentle, obedient smile.
“Sheng Kuang, your business trip is over?”
He looked like he’d just showered. His hair was half-dry, carrying a fresh, sharp scent of juniper in the steam.
Sheng Kuang strolled to the dining room for some water. “What kind of occasion requires Mrs. Sheng to socialize until this late?”
It was clearly teasing. A rich young miss coasting through her own family’s company—where would she have any real social engagements?
Pu Rou also headed toward the dining table. “Guarding an empty bed right after getting our marriage certificate, so I hung out with my girlfriends to pass the time.”
Sheng Kuang poured water and pushed it in front of her first. “I rushed back in time for our agreement.”
“I’m the one guarding the empty bed.”
Pu Rou blinked, her hangover-addled brain recalling a bit of clarity.
When they got their certificate, she’d shamelessly laid out the terms: “I can’t stand a sham marriage. Since you picked me, you have to be gentle and considerate.”
“Don’t short me on spending money.”
“We need a sex life too. Let’s do weekdays.”
Weekdays... she remembered today was Wednesday.
She raised her eyes to look at Sheng Kuang.
Broad shoulders, narrow waist, lean muscles evenly distributed. No need to even mention his looks—otherwise, a playgirl like her wouldn’t have registered their marriage with him as fast as lightning. He hit every single one of her aesthetic points.
Thinking about the model-type guy her friends ordered and then returned earlier today, society really was too forgiving toward men.
She licked her lips. “Wait for me. I’ll take a shower and come right over.”
Steam billowed in the bathroom. Pu Rou meticulously applied body oil all over herself. Even though dawn was approaching, it was still their wedding night. She respected that.
The nightgown she grabbed before entering the bathroom was newly bought. French embroidered lace cutouts, so little fabric it bordered on frivolous, but on her body, it gave off a natural mix of pure and seductive.
As a decorative vase, Pu Rou knew exactly where her advantages lay.
On the eve of confirming the marriage, her mother, Ms. Zhou Rongjun, had spoken earnestly: “Although the Sheng family is powerful, your father and I have worked hard all these years. We still have the confidence to say no.”
Touched, Pu Rou replied very practically: “I have to marry someone eventually. Getting favored by someone at the very top helps the family business. Why would I refuse?”
She pushed open the bathroom door and walked barefoot toward the master bedroom. Passing the Nanyang-style bird-and-flower screen at the doorway, her steps paused.
Sheng Kuang was leaning against the headboard, breathing evenly, already asleep. Judging by his posture, he must have fallen asleep waiting for her.
Only the bedside lamp was on in the bedroom, the atmosphere warm and soft. She tiptoed over, finally getting the chance to carefully examine this husband she’d only seen twice.
His brow bones and nose were exceptionally well-shaped, his jawline sharp, giving his features a rugged edge.
He slept with his head tilted to the side, the tendons in his neck pulled into a few taut lines. His skin was very pale, making his exposed neck look delicious and fragile.
Pu Rou withdrew her gaze.
Looks like tonight’s plan would have to be delayed. She walked around to the other side of the large bed and gently lifted a corner of the blanket.
The blanket was made of premium fabric, barely making a sound as it rubbed, yet the person on the bed woke up.
Her movements froze, stuck in the terrible posture of climbing onto the bed. “Uh, you’re awake.”
The custom-made bed was a bit high. After climbing up, she knelt beside him very obediently. “You must be really tired today, right? Rest first. I’ll give you a day off.”
Sheng Kuang woke from his light sleep, his eyes having too much to take in. She wore a white lace nightgown, her whole body smelling of tropical fruit. Sexy yet childlike—a bit contradictory.
Just like her as a person. She looked delicate and soft on the outside, but spoke and acted with surprising directness.
“I’m not tired.” His faint gaze landed on her.
Pu Rou felt a bit unsure. Her battle armor... didn’t seem to be working.
While she was still nervous, the man pulled down the thin blanket. He wasn’t wearing a shirt on top, and below, only a pair of black boxer briefs.
He reached out a hand with distinct knuckles and said in a low voice, “Come here.”
Pu Rou steadied herself and swung her long legs over his body. With some inexplicable unspoken understanding, Sheng Kuang’s palm naturally settled on her waist, loosely supporting her.
He tilted his head up, and Pu Rou bit his lower lip. The man remained expressionless, letting her do whatever she wanted.
When he’d picked her out from the photos of potential marriage partners, there was no shortage of busybodies chiming in: “Her? She’s pretty alright, but she has too many exes. Just the ones with names known in our circle number seven or eight.”
But judging by her kissing technique now, she didn’t seem experienced at all.
The body under his palm was vibrant and warm. Sheng Kuang ran out of patience and supported her as he leaned back.
The mattress dipped slightly under their combined weight.
Pu Rou only felt a chill as that flimsy battle armor was flipped away.
“I want to turn off the light.” Lacking confidence, she added another sentence, “Is that okay, hubby?”
Sheng Kuang propped himself up. She stole a glance, the V-lines on his abs disappearing into the darkness as he moved.
Without the light source, her senses became especially sharp in the dark. His kiss fell, licking and sucking lightly, then turning into a tangle of lips and tongues.
Driven by male animal instinct, Sheng Kuang was a natural. Pu Rou was so nervous she couldn’t breathe evenly, but not wanting to show weakness, she could only reach out to hug his lean waist, back, and the nape of his neck.
Sheng Kuang buried his face in the side of her neck, his breathing exceptionally clear by her ear. Pu Rou couldn’t hold back, and a soft sound escaped her throat.
It was undoubtedly arousing. His kisses continued downward.
The mattress must be very expensive, Pu Rou thought on the edge of oxygen deprivation, otherwise why did it feel like lying on clouds?
“Sheng Kuang.” She fumbled with the short stubble at the back of his neck. “Is this step necessary?”
Pu Rou’s voice carried a hint of crying, her lower abdomen tensed to the point of cramping.
The man’s voice sounded mellow and pleasant in the darkness. “To make things less hard for you later.”
Her body was probably uniquely gifted—it couldn’t handle his preparations.
The body in his palms was heating up until it was nearly cooked.
She completely gave up trying to hold back. “Sorry... I...”
It arrived.

Notes before feasting:
1. Dual Virginity. The female lead is a playgirl, but it's Dual Virginity. The male lead is adored by everyone, but it's Dual Virginity. Don't question it, it's just Dual Virginity.
2. Mild "white moonlight" trope. The female lead's white moonlight. There will be a mild "chasing the husband" arc later. Deliciousness rating: five stars.
3. A slice-of-life, slow-burn sweet story. I promise even the sour parts taste good. If you don't like the leads' character settings or certain plot points, please move on to other excellent works. I beg everyone not to give this book low ratings out of mixed love and hate. Seriously, I'm kneeling and begging.
4. The female lead's setting is a social butterfly / parasitic flower. No "strong independent female lead" judgment please (fist salute). The whole book is estimated to be around 300,000 words. Happy reading, everyone~
