Chapter 1: Her Name Is Chi Mo, Guan Yizhou's Girlfriend
Author’s Note: Dual Virginity, 1v1, HE, no touching men. Neither female lead will have any ambiguous behavior with guys or with any girl besides each other.
All their firsts belong to each other.
Male characters barely get any screen time in this story. Every guy who shows up is just a tool to push the plot forward.
Almost all the major supporting characters are girls.
The side ships are all F/F. There won’t be any M/F or M/M ships in anything I write.
(There might be couples mentioned in passing, but every supporting character with actual plot relevance will be a lesbian.)
……
Shi Qi was curled up on the couch, one leg draped over the armrest, the other kicked way up high, the glow of her phone screen reflecting off her face.
The notification chime went off several times in a row.
She glanced at it. It was Chen Yu, that cousin from her aunt’s family.
“Sis! Sis! Sis!”
Shi Qi raised an eyebrow, her thumb tapping out a few quick words. “What?”
He replied instantly, slamming her with a string of stickers.
After a long wait, Chen Yu finally typed out a paragraph slowly, like he’d been agonizing over the wording for ages.
“I’ve got a crush on a girl lately. She’s in Class Two next door to your second-year class. Help me chase her, please!”
The smile on Shi Qi’s face faded a bit.
She rolled her eyes and sent six periods over.
Chen Yu clearly read her speechlessness. Messages flooded in immediately, one after another, like he was terrified she’d say no.
“Please! Sis! From now on you’re my real sister! I’ll give you all my New Year’s red envelope money this year!”
“You don’t have to do much! Really! Just help me deliver some milk tea, get closer to her for me! My treat!”
“Please sis! Please!”
“It’s Yu Cheng from the class next to yours!”
Shi Qi’s typing fingers paused.
Yu Cheng.
She had an impression of her. Class Two next door—or more accurately, the class next to their Class Three.
Shi Qi wasn’t in the same class as Yu Cheng, but that person was pretty famous. She’d hogged the number one spot in the grade since the first year, especially in science subjects. Last monthly exam, only one person in the entire grade got the last math problem right, and it was Yu Cheng.
Shi Qi remembered these things, but not entirely because of the grades. Mostly it was that face. 168cm was tall for a girl. She walked with her back perfectly straight, and rarely looked at people.
Her features were striking, especially her brows and eyes. Those eyes looked naturally full of emotion—big double eyelids, thick and long lashes. What really caught your eye were the two beauty marks at the outer corners, one above the other, lined up perfectly.
She was genuinely pretty, and her looks fit Shi Qi’s taste quite well.
On the first day of freshman year, Shi Qi had memorized her.
That day, she was coming back from dropping off paperwork at the academic affairs office. Passing the flowerbed behind the teaching building, she saw Yu Cheng surrounded by a few boys.
The boy in front was clutching an envelope, his expression nervous and excited, while the others around him egged him on. Yu Cheng stood there, her expression awful. She pressed her lips together and took half a step back.
Those boys were still saying stuff like “I like you” and “give me a chance.” Yu Cheng didn’t speak, her hands gripping her backpack straps.
Shi Qi stopped walking. She didn’t know Yu Cheng. Strictly speaking, they’d never even exchanged a word.
But that scene was seriously uncomfortable to look at. The boys’ bodies blocked Yu Cheng in completely. Standing there, the look on her face made Shi Qi very unhappy.
Shi Qi didn’t think much about it. She walked over, pushed through the cluster of boys, and grabbed Yu Cheng’s wrist. Yu Cheng’s wrist was very thin.
The boys froze. Shi Qi didn’t look at them. She just tilted her chin toward the leader, her tone none too polite: “If you don’t leave, I’m telling the teacher.”
The boys looked at each other. They probably hadn’t expected someone to jump out of nowhere.
The leader wanted to say something else, but the guy next to him tugged his sleeve, and they finally scattered, looking sour.
Once they were far away, Shi Qi let go. She turned to look at Yu Cheng, and Yu Cheng was staring right back at her. Those eyes were even prettier up close than from afar, and the two beauty marks at the corners were especially clear in the sunlight.
The way she looked at people was a bit special. Not sizing her up, not scrutinizing her. Just watching her quietly.
Shi Qi felt inexplicably awkward being stared at like that. She rubbed the back of her head, casually tossed out a “I’m heading out,” and left.
They didn’t cross paths much after that. Occasionally bumping into each other in the hallway, Yu Cheng wouldn’t greet her first either, still wearing that ‘strangers keep away’ look.
Shi Qi didn’t take it to heart anyway. She didn’t help people expecting something in return. It was just that sometimes, when she passed Class Two’s door, she’d subconsciously sweep her eyes inside.
Occasionally she could see Yu Cheng sitting by the window, looking pretty obedient with her head down writing.
Just that.
Her phone buzzed again. Another message from Chen Yu. “Sis? Sis are you still there? Please!”
Shi Qi snapped back to reality, shaking those messy thoughts out of her head. She stared at the two words “Yu Cheng” on the screen for a moment, then scrolled up through her chat history with Chen Yu.
Last time this kid said he wanted to chase a girl from the class next door and asked her to find out where she lived. She’d cursed him out.
The time before that, he said he wanted to chase a junior and asked Shi Qi to pretend to be his girlfriend to test the girl’s reaction. Shi Qi blocked him for two days straight.
Scrolling further back, he’d swapped out about four or five girls in total. Every single time it was “please sis,” “you’re the best sis,” “I’ll give you all my red envelope money sis.”
Shi Qi held her phone up to her eyes and typed a line. “Didn’t you say last month you liked that short-haired girl in your class?”
Chen Yu replied fast. “Oh, her? She likes girls!!”
“…What about the one before that? The art student?”
“She said she felt nothing for me! Why are you bringing this up, sis! This time is different! This time I’m serious!”
“You say you’re serious every time.”
“This time it’s real! Yu Cheng is really, really pretty! You just have to deliver stuff for me! I won’t trouble you with anything else!”
“Does she know who you are?”
Silence for a few seconds. “…No.”
“Then why send milk tea.”
“That’s exactly why I need to send it! Once I send it, she’ll know!”
Shi Qi couldn’t help it. She rolled her eyes. She tossed her phone onto the couch cushion and flipped over, lying face down.
Chen Yu’s messages kept popping up nonstop, the vibration buzzing through the cushion one beat after another.
Shi Qi lifted her face out of the cushion and stared at the ceiling. She could actually just say no. She knew damn well this kid fished three days and dried his nets for two; he’d forget about it himself after a while.
But she thought about Yu Cheng’s hand gripping the backpack strap by the flowerbed that day, and the expression on her face.
She also thought about later, occasionally passing Class Two’s window and seeing Yu Cheng sitting there alone, head down, writing.
Shi Qi didn’t know what exactly she was thinking. It was just running an errand anyway.
Fine.
She sat up from the couch and fished her phone back. Chen Yu had already filled the screen with “pleases” and crying-face stickers.
Shi Qi typed.
“Your treat.”
“Treat treat treat! I’m paying for everything!”
“I’m not putting in a good word for you.”
“No need no need! Just deliver the stuff!”
“I drop it off and leave. I’m not asking her out for you.”
“Okay okay okay! Whatever you say, sis!!”
“Call me that again and I’m blocking you.”
The other side went quiet for a second instantly, then sent over a little figure covering its mouth and nodding frantically.
Shi Qi stared at the sticker and added another line. “Last time. If you want to chase someone again later, figure it out yourself.”
“No problem! You’re the best, sis!”
Shi Qi slapped her phone face-down on the coffee table and leaned the back of her head against the couch.
She closed her eyes for a second, and Yu Cheng’s eyes popped into her head again, along with those two beauty marks at the corners.
School starts tomorrow.
Shi Qi opened her eyes, reached out, grabbed her phone off the coffee table, opened WeChat, and clicked into her contacts.
She knew she didn’t have Yu Cheng added. They’d barely spoken a few words. She just scrolled down the contact list a bit and stopped on an avatar.
Their class monitor. Seemed like she’d known Yu Cheng since middle school.
She stared at that avatar for a few seconds, then backed out.
Forget it. Tomorrow.
